In this workshop, we will learn what an ontology is and how it is used to model knowledge. We will establish some links to its\u00a0use within a data management context, and we will explore the possibilities of making queries within the semantic web using linked data. The workshop will include hands-on exercises using SPARQL. No prior knowledge on ontologies is required. Please find details about the contents and schedule of the course <a href=\"https:\/\/skills4eosc-dscurriculum.github.io\/Pilot-Training-Ontologies\/latest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop will be held by <a href=\"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-9462-4831\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Fernando Aguilar G\u00f3mez<\/a> working at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Santander (IFCA), who is currently at the KIT-Library through the Skills4EOSC fellowship program.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop takes place onsite at KIT, Campus North (Building 303). There will also be the possibility to participate online (yet support for online participants will be limited).
