The current work provides insight into the atrial substrate that intracardiac signals contain—this work aims to provide methods that could help medical doctors guide ablation therapy.

The topic of this book is my Ph.D. dissertation.

The writing time was about 2 months.

Having a daily schedule help me to plan better the writing time and keep track of the progress.
6. Was bereitet Ihnen beim Schreiben die größte Freude und was nervt Sie dabei am meisten?
The discussion section was the part that I enjoyed writing the most. Describing in detailed the results was the part that enjoyed the least.
7. Wie entspannen Sie während des Schreibprozesses? Was tun Sie um abzuschalten, um sich zu erholen?
In the evenings I did exercise which help me to keep my mind off writing.
8. Wenn Sie es sich wünschen dürften: Welchen Bestseller der Wissenschafts- oder Literaturgeschichte hätten Sie gerne selbst geschrieben?
I haven’t thought about this.
9. Wenn Sie drei andere, aktuelle Veröffentlichungen zu Ihrem Fachgebiet empfehlen dürften, welche drei wären das?
I would recommend papers written by people in the group led by Prof. Gernot Plank and Prof. Steven Niederer, which I consider publications that innovate and push the field of cardiac modeling toward a better understanding of the heart’s electrophysiology.
10. Sie haben Ihr Buch im „KIT Scientific Publishing“, dem Wissenschaftsverlag des KIT, veröffentlicht. Warum haben Sie sich für diesen Verlag entschieden?
This is recommended at my institute and previous people have used it.
Jorge Sánchez is a researcher at the Karlsruhe Institute for Technology with expertise in cardiac electrophysiology as well as cardiac modeling. He is particularly interested in the structural remodeling of the cardiac substrate and its effect during cardiac arrhythmias. He also has experience in high-performance computing and contributed to the development of openCARP. Moreover, he is involved in international collaborations, including the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
