Beitritt des KIT zum DEAL-Vertrag mit Elsevier // KIT joins DEAL contract with Elsevier

Das KIT ist ab 1.1.2024 dem deutschlandweiten DEAL-Vertrag mit dem Verlag Elsevier beigetreten: In rd. 1.850 hybriden Zeitschriften (Inhalte erscheinen gegen Zahlung einer Zusatzgebühr im Open Access) können Korrespondenzautorinnen und –autoren des KIT ihre Artikel Open Access publizieren. Die Kosten dafür trägt die KIT-Bibliothek aus ihrem Literaturbudget.

Bei rd. 630 reinen Open-Access-Zeitschriften („Gold Open Access”) erhalten Korrespondenzautorinnen und -autoren des KIT 20 Prozent Rabatt auf die Publikationsgebühren, bei weiteren ca. 30 Open-Access-Titeln der Imprints „Cell Press” und „The Lancet” 15 Prozent Rabatt. Die Kosten können über den KIT-Publikationsfonds abgerechnet werden.

KIT has joined the Germany-wide DEAL contract with the publisher Elsevier as of January 1, 2024: Corresponding authors of KIT can publish their articles open access in around 1,850 hybrid journals (content appears in open access against payment of an additional fee). The KIT library bears the costs for this from its literature budget.

KIT corresponding authors receive a 20 percent discount on the publication fees for around 630 pure Open Access journals (“Gold Open Access”) and a 15 percent discount for a further 30 Open Access titles from the imprints “Cell Press” and “The Lancet”. The costs can be settled via the KIT Publication Fund.
